Cock Fighting (TAJEN)
Cockfighting in Bali is known as "Tajen". Derived from the word meaning sharp spurs and has become a hallmark of Balinese life. In the beginning "Tajen" is part of religious rituals "Tabuh Rah" or "Prang Sata" in the Balinese Hinduism. Which "Tabuh Rah" This requires presence of dripping blood as a symbol or a requirement cleanse mankind from greed, or greed of materialistic values and worldly. "Tabuh Rah" is also significant as ritual Bhuta Yadnya which blood drips to the earth symbolized mankind requests to Sang Hyang Widhi Wasa to avoid disaster
